(Round Lake, IL – November 7, 2011) Lennie Jarratt is officially announcing his candidacy for the 31st State Senate District.

I am running on the platform of supporting families, not government.  Too many families in the 31^st State Senate District are losing their jobs and homes due to the bad policies coming from Springfield.  These bad policies now have Illinois ranked in the 48^th worst financial position. Springfield is broke and their only solution it to squeeze more money from families with higher income taxes, high gas taxes, and internet taxes that destroyed extra income for many home based businesses.

My track record of holding local officials accountable for their actions puts Springfield on notice that I am coming to change the culture and end the back room deals.  Together, we can restore fiscal sanity and once again have Springfield policies supporting families, not government.

The arrest of State Representative Derrick Smith on charges of bribery once again proves this old adage. As long as we continue to send political insiders to Springfield, we will continue to be the most corrupt state. We cannot afford to send a person whose company receives millions of dollars in State contracts. We cannot afford to send a person who votes for every possible tax increase. It is time to do things different and send a taxpayer watchdog to Springfield.

(Round Lake, IL – March 7, 2011) Lennie Jarratt announces the endorsement of the Illinois Homeschool PAC.

The Illinois Homeschool PAC has made its endorsements in the 2012 Primary Elections. These endorsements are only for the 2012 Primary Elections and are based on candidate responses to the ILHPAC legislative questionnaire. All of these candidates have contested Primary Elections, and there is a clear and demonstrable difference between these candidates and their opponents on the issue of homeschool freedom.

As a homeschool parent of 8 years, I understand the needs of homeschoolers and the job it takes to teach a child. This experience will give me a unique perspective in the requirements to make sure all children in the state have access to a quality education.
